We need more than 2,000 volunteers on Sunday, October 12 to ensure a safe and fun day for all at AIDS Walk Los Angeles! We have opportunities for everyone, even groups: you can greet participants, total donations, cheer on walkers, and so much more! Please see our volunteer opportunities below and then let us know how you would like to help!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO START VOLUNTEERING RIGHT AWAY?
Check out the activities that are starting at the AIDS Walk office in August:

“SUPPER CLUB”
Mondays and Wednesdays: 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Join us for our evening volunteer activities, affectionately known as “Supper Club.” Help us make phone calls to AIDS Walk Los Angeles top fundraisers and volunteers, assemble Walker Kits and team materials, and assist with special projects in preparation for AIDS Walk Los Angeles 2014. Dinner will be served!

VOLUNTEER ON THE DAY OF THE AIDS WALK!
All activities take place on Sunday, October 12 unless otherwise noted.
Times vary according to position.

SIGN-IN
AIDS Walk Shift:
6:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Mandatory Orientation:
Tuesday, October 7 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. OR Saturday, October 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Be the first face participants see the morning of AIDS Walk Los Angeles! Sign-In Volunteers check in walkers and collect the funds they have raised. You must be friendly, outgoing, detail-oriented, have a valid photo ID and must be at least 16 years old.

MONITORS
AIDS Walk Shift:
6:45 a.m. - 2:30p.m
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Monitor Volunteers are in the center of the action! Monitors cheer on walkers, direct the flow of participant traffic and help keep walkers safe. They must be outgoing, energetic, and skilled communicators in order to guide the walkers safely. Monitor Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

CHECKPOINTS 1-3
AIDS Walk Shift:
8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Checkpoint Volunteers help set up, manage and clean up walker Checkpoints along the route. Distribute snacks and beverages to our dedicated walkers! Help direct walkers to services such as restrooms and first aid. All ages are welcome! This volunteer position is great for families and groups.

AIDS Walk Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
No Orientation
Checkpoint 4 Volunteers help set up, manage, and clean up our walker Checkpoint at the Start/Finish Line (also known as Checkpoint 4). Distribute snacks and beverages to our dedicated walkers! Help direct walkers to services such as restrooms and first aid. All ages are welcome! This volunteer position is great for families and groups.

CROWD CONTROL
AIDS Walk Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Welcome walkers as they enter West Hollywood Park and be part of the excitement at the start and finish line of AIDS Walk Los Angeles! Energetic and outgoing personalities are a must! Crowd Control Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

DELINEATORS
AIDS Walk Shift:
7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
No Orientation

Help us assemble and “delineate” the AIDS Walk Los Angeles route before the Walk starts and then help break down the route once walkers have completed AIDS Walk Los Angeles. Delineator Volunteers must be comfortable with physical activity and lifting. Be prepared to get a little dirty.

HOOPLAH / STRIKE CREW
AIDS Walk Shift: 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
No Orientation
Be the first to welcome back the walkers! Help us celebrate at the finish line by handing out seals of completion and cheering as the walkers' return from the route. Then stick around to help us make sure we leave West Hollywood Park clean and beautiful!

INFORMATION ARMY
AIDS Walk Shift:
7:00 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. 
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Help direct 25,000 AIDS Walk participants through West Hollywood! As a member of this elite group of volunteers, you will help walkers turn in funds, find their team meeting stations, and locate other areas around the AIDS Walk venue. You will be the AIDS Walk expert that our walkers will seek out on the morning of the event!

SECURITY 
AIDS Walk Shift: 7:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

Help with Crowd Control and Security during the AIDS Walk Los Angeles Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Security Volunteers must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

TEAMS
AIDS Walk Shift: 6:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 
Mandatory Orientation:
Saturday, October 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Volunteer in the heart of the action, where hundreds of teams meet on AIDS Walk day. A team is any group of two or more walkers that raise money and walk together at AIDS Walk Los Angeles. In the Teams Meeting Area, volunteers assist with setting up Meeting Stations and guiding walkers to their designated meeting spots, where they gear up for the walk and show their team spirit! Teams Volunteers must be comfortable with physical activity and lifting.

TOTALING
AIDS Walk Shift: 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 
No Orientation
Help us as we process donations and total the funds turned in by our participants on the day of AIDS Walk Los Angeles. Totaling Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have some experience with a 10-key calculator.

We need a lot of help on Saturday, October 11 preparing for the big event! Come help us set up the Teams area, assemble the Sign-In area and assist with the placement of posters. This volunteer position is great for people who prefer to walk on Sunday, October 12.

We encourage everyone who participates in AIDS Walk Los Angeles to raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Therefore, we credit all of our volunteers with walking 10 kilometers. To assist you with your fundraising efforts, we will create a personal fundraising Web page just for you when you register as a 2014 AIDS Walk Volunteer. You can utilize your personal Web page to send fundraising e-mails to friends and family, track your donations, and get AIDS Walk volunteer information. Fundraising is certainly not a requirement, but we encourage you to give it a try - if you have questions about online fundraising or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 213.201.9255 (WALK).
